Disclosure: I was provided with a free sample of Twister Dance Rave Game from Hasbro to facilitate this review, any opinions are my own.
Do your kids love to dance? It’s popular in many of the schools I work both in gym class and even in some of our OT sessions to cue up some fun music in order to encourage children to move their bodies to stay physically active and while enjoying exercise. Whether your children like to dance or exercise, or both, toys like the Twister Dance Rave game from Hasbro are not only fun for birthday party sleepover parties, but they can be a great way for kids to get a little extra energy out to stay physically active.
With Twister Dance Rave kids place small colored Twister spots in the exact same design (4 on each side of the console) on the floor. The console itself, which includes 4 “AA” demo batteries, plays 4 included songs: “Hit the Lights” performed by Selena Gomez @ The Scene, “Lights” performed by Ellie Golding, “Glow” performed by Britt Nicole and an original song,”Caught Up In A Twister.” Kids can hook up any MP3 player through an included auxillary jack.
After picking a song, when dancing the console will flash with a specific color, and in turn players touch their feet to the correct Twister spot. When the entire console lights up purple then kids can make up their own dance moves. There are 3 different levels, and even the easiest one is pretty challenging!
Gavin and I ironically hooked his LeapFrog LeapReader device that functions like an MP3 player which had some pre-loaded Kidz Bop music on it and danced away. Whether children are interested and able to follow along with the beat correctly, Twister Dance Rave is a lot of fun, because there really isn’t any penalty for not performing a move incorrectly. Children can dance the night away with their friends in a non-competitive way.
