Hotel Tonight App for Last Minute Hotel Reservations

@Hotel Tonight

Have you ever tried to make last minute hotel reservations through Priceline or other websites like Kayak or Room Key? A few weeks ago we took a trip to New York City and I diligently researched the rates on Kayak and Room Key. I even tried twice to score a cheap hotel room on Priceline, but my rate was not accepted.

My husband had just learned about the Hotel Tonight app, so we headed into NYC with our fingers crossed, hoping something would show up at a rate we could afford. With Hotel Tonight, you sign on to the app everyday at noon. Hotel Tonight works directly with hotels across the United States, Canada and Europe to provide fantastic rates on the day you check-in, for same day booking. Some hotels actually allow you to book more than 1 night at their amazing contracted rates. You book directly through your smartphone with your credit card. There are also promo codes that can be shared amongst other members, additionally saving you $25.

We booked the Hampton Inn in Times Square South in NYC for $127 for the night, WITH taxes. This rate included our $25 credit, from using my husband’s promo code. We are a Hilton family and try to rack up our Hilton HHonors points towards free, future night stays. When checking in, the hotel staff was very courteous. They easily found our reservation, gave us a room with a King sized bed, provided free, fresh baked cookies and reminded us of the free, full breakfast the following morning. They even applied our HHonors account to the room. Though it was a little bit of a pins and needles type scenario, not really knowing where we would stay, especially while we were with our toddler, things couldn’t have gone any smoother. The app is easy to use, and provides excellent photos of the room, plus pertinent information regarding each hotel they feature. However, the best feature is that we knew the exact name and location of the hotel, and weren’t subject to vague point systems and large areas on a map.

Make sure you download this app to your smartphone and share your promo code with all your friends. Make sure to check the app a few days before, or even the week before on the night you are planning to stay, so you can see what’s being offered so you can get a sense of the kinds of deals they offer. I’d also set the timer and get right on the app, as close to noon as possible, and have some type of back-up plan. You may not always steal a room like we did, but you can bet you’ll get a substantial discount on a room at a high-end hotel, that at least you’ll know the name of before you authorize your credit card.

We have no affiliation to Hotel Tonight and I chose to write this review, based on an unbelievable experience.

  • Hello, Neat post. There's a problem together with your web site in web explorer, might check this? IE nonetheless is the market leader and a huge element of other folks will pass over your excellent writing due to this problem.

  • Good to know-going to Toy Fair in Feb. Did you like this Hampton compared to others? Also, HH member and I like to try different locations in NYC. Stayed at the Hampton closest to Javits last year.

    • Sarah this was the only Hampton Inn we've stayed at in NYC. We usually stay at the Doubletree (formerly Wyndham Garden Times Square South) for Toy Fair because its within walking distance of the Javitts. This Hampton Inn hotel would also be in walking distance to the Javitts, was this where you stayed? It was typical of NYC, smaller than most hotels, but everything about it was truly Hampton (good, free breakfast - nice clean bed, etc.).

  • We stayed at the Hampton Inn Manhattan-Madison Square Garden Area last year & it was a cab ride to the Javitt's. Thanks for the tip about the Doubletree-we would rather walk if we can! But a free breakfast is always nice so, I'll check out the Hampton too. I assume you are media at the fair?

Are you going to be at Chi-tag next month? My business partner Patty & I will be there. We are actually speaking at the WIT (Women in Toys) breakfast in the am.

    • Yes, I am media at Toy Fair! Walking distance leaving the Javitts at the end of the day is KEY. We can never get a cab at that time! I don't think I'm going to make it to Chi-tag this year, though it's definitely on my list of things to do at some point!

  • I love the Hotel Tonight app - I haven't used it yet, but I'm always checking out the great deals.

    • Jodi I was so psyched with our positive, first time experience. We held our breath for a bit waiting for them to post the deals at noon, but I felt so lucky with what we got. I now just scroll through the app every few days to check out other places they have available, dreaming of when we can take another trip!

  • Cool! See ya there! Text me @future doll and we can meet up. I checked out both of your hotel recommendations &the Hampton rooms looked exactly like our rooms last year at the Madison Square locale.

  • Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and
gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

  • Thank you, I've just been searching for info approximately this subject for ages and yours is the greatest I have discovered so far. However, what concerning the bottom line? Are you sure about the source?

  • Hi there colleagues, its fantastic piece of writing regarding cultureand
fully defined, keep it up all the time.

  • Wow, this paragraph is good, my younger sister is analyzing such things, therefore I am going to tell her.

I did however expertise some technical issues using this
