Toy Fair is always packed with meeting interesting people and all sorts of photo opportunities. The first morning of the show within 20 minutes of opening, we wandered into the booth featuring Rainbow Loom.
Rainbow Loom is the elastic band sensation that took children and their parents by storm this past Fall. It was honored at Toy Fair this year with 3 TOTY Awards from the Toy Industry Association for Activity Toy of the Year, Girl Toy of the Year, and Specialty Toy of the Year.
We had the pleasure of meeting Choon, the creator of Rainbow Loom who was one of the most sincere, humble inventors we’ve met in our 5 years at Toy Fair. Choon spoke with us candidly amidst the craziness about how he came up with the idea for the Rainbow Loom while helping his daughter who simply wanted to make a bracelet. He spoke of the many attempts and modifications he made to the Rainbow Loom and the bands themselves, for the product to meet his specifications.
We were able to get a sneak peek at the new Rainbow Loom set being released in a few weeks called Monster Tail. It’s pictured above and look for it’s availability in the next 6 weeks.
