Genevieve Going’s CD “Do You Know ” Launch

For those of of you are Disney Junior regulars like our family, when ever you hear the Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve anthem, you can’t but help but sing along.

On June 3rd, 2014, Genevieve will release her first solo album for preschoolers entitled, “Do You Know?” “Do You Know?” is recommended for kids ages 2-7 and teaches children about everyday life’s activities and information utilizing songs.

Songs and videos will teach kids about the concepts of telling time, learning their phone number, putting themselves to bed, potty training, and hygiene. In my experience, kids learn through multi-sensory ways.

Songs and appropriate video content are often certainly much more meaningful than parents repeating the same information into their ears over and over again! As an occupational therapist who works with a lot of children, it also worries me when kids are not aware of personal information like their full name, address, or phone number. While certainly there are some children who may have a hard time verbalizing that information, finding ways like this are important for kids to be able to try and commit such important information to their memory if god forbid the unthinkable happens.

I’ve had a chance to preview 2 of the songs on the album, “My Telephone Number is” and “Gotta Do My Business” and if you are Choo Choo Soul fan, you won’t be disappointed. They include the same types of fun, catchy tunes kids won’t help but be able to sing along with while learning important life skills.
