American Girl Caroline Abbott

@American Girl

If you have a little girl, or friends with older daughters ages 4 and up, by now you may have heard about American Girl dolls and the experience of traveling to the American Girl store. These beautiful dolls have been collected by young girls ages 6 and up for decades.

The original line of American Girl dolls includes dolls from various historical eras. Aside from meticulously designed fashion accessories, each doll arrives with a storybook. It has always been a priority of the American Girl company to promote literacy through reading, as well as to develop character and values of self-confidence, friendship and leadership amongst girls through all of their products. Aside from the historical collection, girls can design more modern dolls to look like themselves, and buy clothing to match their doll.

Next week on September 4th, 2012, the latest American Girl Caroline Abbott will be available for purchase in stores, online and through the American Girl catalog. She arrives wearing a pink dress, has blue eyes and long curly blonde hair great for combing and styling. Caroline’s story includes her life with her family living in upstate New York, during the War of 1812.

In the American Girl Stores, various themed activities are occurring to celebrate the launch of this doll. On September 4th & 8th, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and September 9, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., kids at the Boston store in Natick can learn to stitch a firework pattern on a greeting card, decorate a paper bonnet, and learn 2 patriotic songs from Caroline’s era. Guests can go on a scavenger hunt throughout the store and enter to win a free poster. Check out the American Girl store nearest to you for additional information on store happenings.

For more information, head on over to my additional posts as the Toys Guide About.com that include a full review of the American Girl Caroline and an additional post on my trip to American Girl Place in New York City.

American Girl provided this doll free to facilitate this review. Any opinions are my own.
