Toddler Trucks (Giveaway)
When Gavin was 8-months-old we received our first Mega Bloks dump truck. As he was just learning to crawl, trucks and large vehicles were the only motivation he needed to get moving faster, as he pushed them aimlessly back and forth across the living room floor. Since then, any truck, car or item with moving wheels has been pushed, zoomed and parked in the living room, in his bed and within his play area.
Though we’ve donated many toys to charity at this point, 2 1/2 years later, we still have his original Mega Bloks dump truck. He fills it up with all sorts of cars, blocks, play food and flies across the living room. This fun, toddler truck looks just as good as the day we opened it from the package.
When I was contacted about their updated version, Dylan Dump Truck, which is part of the Mega Bloks First Builders line, I couldn’t say no. This version not only has updated colors, but the driver is larger, and the driver’s seat area is wide open, making it easier for younger kids to put him in/out of the driver seat. The only thing I will caution about a child running behind a dump truck is that, well, it’s a dump truck. The back will flip up and sometimes it can be a little dangerous when running behind it at top speed. There are 6 included Mega Bloks, that can be stored in the back, or stacked on the top of the dump truck.
Now, what’s the other vehicle, kids, especially boys, love to talk about in my opinion? School buses. I searched high and low for Gavin for a yellow school bus. At the time I couldn’t find any, so Sonny School bus is definitely filling a void in the toy bus market in my opinion! The drivers between the bus and the dump truck are interchangeable. The school bus has a unique feature where the top flips up, making it a great container for dump and fill play.
With both vehicles having a MSRP of $9.99, these toddler trucks make excellent first birthday gifts for boys.
