Night Lights for Kids Rooms
Disclosure: I was provided with a sample of one of these night lights for kids to facilitate this post. Any opinions are my own.
When Gavin was born I had a nightlight in the hallway so I could stumble into his room to feed or change him. During these timeframes we kept the stimulation very low so he’d immediately fall back to sleep.
Then, when we finally transitioned him to his “big boy bed,” for some reason I started looking for a night light, more as a decorative piece to entice him to make the transition and stay inside his bed without leaving the room.
Uncle Milton has designed a whole new line of interactive, Disney themed talking night lights for kids rooms, that are part of the Wall Friends line. These lightweight plastic night lights are about 13 inches tall and can be hung from a pin on the wall as decor. Using the included remote control, the night light will light up for several minutes, while the character speaks several phrases. They are recommended for kids ages 3 and up.
There are 2 settings on the back for the brightness, and it has an aut0matic shut-off built-in. You will need to buy 5 AA batteries in total, for the Wall Friend and the remote control. In the beginning, I would not suggest giving this to your child right before they go to bed for the first time. Gavin was so excited he actually couldn’t fall asleep. Personally, I’d let them explore the night light phrases and use it during the day, so when night time comes they can turn it on and go to sleep. At one point, Gavin was so obsessed with it, I hid the remote control from him. In the process, it took me a few days to find it, and you can’t access the night light without it, so make sure you keep it in a safe place!
Here are some pictures of all of the Disney characters available as Wall Friends, which one would your child enjoy?
