Disclosure: I received a sample of Mothers Therapy Organics natural hand sanitizers and lotions to facilitate this post. Any opinions are my own.
Though my son is almost 4, for 15 years I’ve worked with children in their homes, daycares, preschools, hospitals and elementary schools. My hands have born witness to more snot, germs and spit-up then I would actually care to admit. During a work day, I might come in contact individually with at least 10 children, and I’m in/out of entire classrooms all day long. So, it’s good practice to wash or sanitize my hands between each and every student/client I come in contact with.
In order to prevent illness over the years, I’ve tried all sorts of hand sanitizing gels and foams. You can usually tell when we are in the height of germ season because my hands are dry and cracked from to much hand sanitizer. I refuse to get manicures anymore during the school year because I have to wash and sanitize my hands so frequently they are often chipped and ruined with days. Even though I’d prefer the good old-fashioned soap and water routine, it’s not always possible. Aside from that, working in a school, parents understand we buy so much hand sanitizer they nicely give us baskets full of scented Bath and Body works sanitizer that I never use because the strong scents linger on my fingers all day long and frequently give me a headache.
We started back to school a few weeks and some of the first supplies I purchase are disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer. Despite the after-effects hand sanitizer is proudly displayed on my desk in every school I work at. I have to protect myself and my family from as many germs as I can. This year, when Mothers Therapy Organics asked if I’d like to review their natural hand sanitizer, I couldn’t wait to see if there was a product that was able to rid my hands of those yucky germs without drying them out.
Mothers Therapy Organics Hand Sanitizer arrives in a cucumber scent and is made from natural alcohol, Aloe Vera, Echinacea, Goldenseal and natural Lavender Essential Oil. It retails for $9.99 for a 10 ounce bottle. The company states that their kids hand sanitizer fights 99% of germs. I’ve used it repeatedly over the last few weeks at school, at home and on our most recent family trips to the Museum of Science and Storyland. My hands have remained smooth without any drying or cracking, and I’m thankful that the cucumber scent is clean and not offensive. Aside from kids hand sanitizer and travel hand sanitizer, The Mothers Therapy Organics line of products also includes Germ-Fightin hand lotion and baby lotion. Though I had some difficulty with my shipment originally with the kids lotion and baby lotion samples, as the pumps had broken and exploded in transit, the company responded quickly to my concern and provided replacement products immediately.
