Lush Handmade Cosmetics

@Lush

Several weeks ago I finally took a trip into Boston and learned all about Lush handmade cosmetics. I am a no frills type of person. The question, “What skin care products do you use?” scares the heck out of me. I pretty much use what ever body wash is left over from our last hotel stay and my current face wash is part of a Philosophy gift bag I won at Blogher 2011. Yes, 2011, and we are creeping into 2013. I was invited to the Lush store on Newbury Street, to learn about their 100% vegan skin and body products made by real people, by hand, but more specifically to check out a new line of moldable bath soap called FUN.

FUN is a lot like play-doh. It’s bath soap that comes in red, yellow, green, blue, red and pink that can be rolled, molded, and shaped with cookie cutters into various sculptures and creations. Each color has a different scent. Afterwards kids or adults can use it in the tub as a bath soap and body wash for either their body or hair. What I like even more is that 2.5% of the proceeds of FUN will be donated to a FunD, that allows disadvantaged children of Fukushima, Japan who live in a contaminated area, the ability to partake in recreational experiences. FUN consists of a base of corn flour, talc and glycerine.

In the process, I learned all about LUSH handmade cosmetics, soaps, bath bombs, face masks,hair care products, moisturizers, body washes, massage bars and scrubs.

If you have not purchased a pot of their Ocean Salt, this is one of those things that everyone on my list of loved ones is getting for an extra special holiday gift, and something I don’t think I could ever live with out.

LUSH provided me with a free sample of FUN to facilitate this post, any opinions are my own. I purchased my own pot of Ocean Salt at full retail price.
