Aquabots Robotic Fish are a Fun Bath Toy! (Giveaway)
Disclosure: I received a sample of a HEXBUG Aquabot robotic fish for review, any opinions are my own.
When Gavin was a toddler, we had all sorts of boats and toys for the bath tub. As he’s gotten older, I slowly started removing the toys. Some he made to much of a splashy mess with, while others got moldy and gross because they were plastic and couldn’t be cleaned on the inside. Cleaning them up was also another chore at the end of a long work and school day.
A year or so ago at a discount store I found some Hot Wheels cars that change color based on the temperature of the water, but these new Aquabots have to be one of the most fun bath toys I’ve seen recently. Aquabots were designed by the creators of the infamous HEXBUGS. HEXBUGS NANO’s are robotic bugs that can race, battle and navigate through a unique track system.
Aquabots are robotic fish. They come in 10 different colors, as well as different varieties of fish (sharks or clownfish). When placed inside water they swim, dive and turn, with action similar to a real fish. Much like the design of Hexbugs, they are battery operated, but children can see the working parts in action. While the company is also marketing them to be placed in a fish bowl, don’t rule out how much fun your children may have with them as a bath toy! The fish swim automatically once you place them in the water, and when you take them out, they will stop moving. They have an automatic shut-off feature after 5 minutes, and they will just float in the water. By pushing on the two buttons on the side of the fish, you can re-activate them.
