7 Features of Ford F150 That Make For an Unbelievable Family Roadtrip

My family isn’t afraid of driving, more often then not we just don’t have the time for extended road trips. But that all changed this year when my son ended up in a hockey tournament in Chicago over Easter weekend. Dallas to Chicago is about a 13 hour drive, so in order to save ourselves on the last minute $1000 per person flight, Ford was gracious enough to provide us with a vehicle to take us there in style.

We might be the only Texans who don’t own a pick-up truck but after spending 40 hours in this luxurious ride, it’s only going to be a matter of time before we upgrade.

Here are 7 features of the Ford F-150 Limited Truck that made our family road trip an unforgettable experience.

1. Massage Chairs

This is not a joke. The front seats, both driver and passenger seats are massage chairs with customizable option. Yes, I repeat, massage chairs. You have no idea how much this feature was helpful to not only our circulation, but are emotional state. 40 hours is a long time to be in a vehicle over the course of 5 days, and these chairs were absolutely amazing.

2. FordPass Connect with WIFI hotspot

I’m writing a book and couldn’t take the entire time off, so what better way to try and get some work accomplished then on a road trip. The wifi hotspot was easy to connect my laptop to, so when I had a burst of energy I was able to maximize the time. My first connection offered a free trial, but that was enough data to work for a few hours successfully.

3. Apple Car Play

If you have an apple device, just plug in your phone to the charger and popular apps you use on the phone are safe to access in the car. We used Waze for navigation seamlessly. We didn’t text and drive, but with Apple Car Play texts can be read out loud to the driver.

4. Lane-Keeping System with BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert Assist

Not only is it possible to encounter inclement weather, but unpredictable drivers while you are driving through unfamiliar territory. The lane keeping system keeps you on track, and certainly let us know when other tractor trailer trucks and drivers were close to invading our personal spac

5. 26 gallon Tank with Superior Gas Mileage

We stopped in the middle of the night in Missouri to fill up the tank and almost fell over when we saw how many miles to empty. 757 miles to empty.  757. This is a car, not an airplane right? Not only was the fuel economical, major peace of mind knowing we didn’t have to get stuck in the middle of nowhere looking for an open gas station.

6. Twin Panel MoonRoof

Let there be light, and lot’s of it. When people are in a vehicle for such a long time eating fast food, you will need lots of air and light to keep your spirits up.

7. Ventilated/ Heated Seats

We left Dallas and it was flip flop weather, and by the time we got to Chicago we were wearing our winter coats again. Weather can change drastically on a road trip, and these seats were a perfect way to stay comfortable, no matter what weather we encountered.

We were so thankful to Ford for providing us with a luxurious truck to get us back and forth safely to our destination. We had a lot of fun on our roundtrip drive and look forward to making memories again.
