Are you looking to find arts and crafts for your children to do this year for personalized holiday gifts? Capsters and Window Art by Klutz are the great sets for this! These days holiday gift giving can get very expensive but with these activities, it just got more personalized and cost effective, too! As I was flipping through the Capster book I thought about bringing it to school for the kids to create their own personalized trinkets. The Capsters book includes 15 safety coated bottle caps, hundreds of punch-outs and 9 charms. You simply put a little gooey glaze in the bottom of the provided cap, place down the punch out picture and charms, then fill the cap with more gooey glaze, and let them dry for 24 hours. Then, as I was looking through the punch-outs, I decided to create a Christmas Tree style ornament and included inside the Capsters, pictures of many of Gavin’s first words and favorite toys. The English Bulldog for his godmother’s
dog, Tank; the Jolly Green Giant for his love of broccoli and green beans; Duck, Dog, Choo Choo, Uh-oh, Moo, Nana (banana), Neigh, have been some of his first words; The Number “One” for his first year, the Crown for all of our ToyQueen experiences and the Canadian flag for our first family vacation. Holiday ornaments are so expensive, but to have one as meaningful as this will be absolutely priceless!
To create Window Art, you simply place a piece of plastic
over a page in the book, use the black paint provided to trace and outline the shape, let it dry for a few minutes and then fill in the spaces with any of the other colored paints provided! 24 hours later you can peel off the design and stick it to any glass type surface. I painted a flower and think this could be a perfect addition to a glass vase as a gift. Why not create holiday decorations that you can put on the windows as well?!?

I recently discovered Klutz products a few weeks ago and so far, I’m pretty impressed by all their products. I love doing projects with my 3 nieces (ages 6-12) and my nephew who is 8. I really think they would love all their products, especially their Capsters. I also think they’d like their Fuzzimal Puppies, Picture bracelets and the Body Crayon books. Looking at all their products, they make so many to appeal to all different interest levels–very cool!
