The animation and show has completely changed over the years to really complement the type of curious, mischevious monkey George is. This week, Curious George celebrates its 7th season on the daily lineup at PBS Kids. The new season features an entire season of animal-themed shows that include learning about mammals, insects, reptiles and birds. The first episode also features a special visit by Bindi Irwin, daughter of the popular, now deceased, Australian crocodile hunter Steve Irwin.
To celebrate the release, WGBH sent us a screener of the new episodes, some Curious George books and themed animal activities to host a “Monkey Down Under” screening party. We got together with some friends and the kids previewed the episodes, and read the Curious George books, which they all loved.
You can visit http://www.pbskids.org/curiousgeorge if you would like to partake in some of the same activities we did.
Stride Rite, the maker of popular shoes for babies and children of all ages is a sponsor of Curious George on PBS Kids. They have graciously agreed to offer a $50 gift card to Stride Rite along with this post.
WGBH provided a screener, activities and Curious George books for the house viewing party. Stride Rite is providing the winner of this giveaway with a $50 gift card. I will also receive a pair of shoes from Stride Rite for my son. Any additional opinions in this post are my own.
