Clorox Power A Bright Future Grants for Classrooms

The Power A Bright future has officially launched. This unique program by Clorox allows K-12 schools the ability to apply for grants for classrooms. 7 grants will be won, with a total of $200,000 being awarded.

To nominate your favorite K-12 school, go to www.PowerABrightFuture.com. Upload a photo, and submit a short summary of how the grant would allow kids to play, create and explore both in/out of the classroom within the corresponding category.

Working in several K-12 schools myself over the course of the week, I can think of so many ways teachers and students could benefit from additional technology and learning tools. Since school is starting now, you will have a few weeks to enter (last day 10/17/12) before the voting begins in November. You may want to ask your child’s teacher how you can help or refer them to this website so the teachers can enter on their own if they have specific curriculum objectives in mind.
